OmniComm Systems, Inc. Completes Integration Of Their Electronic Data Capture Solution (EDC), TrialMaster®, With The Industry Leading Clinical Data Management System (CDMS), Oracle Clinical
Integration allows customers of OmniComm Systems’ TrialMaster and Oracle Clinical to implement a solution that supports electronic and paper-based data collection in a unified solution for clinical research
FT. LAUDERDALE, FL – June 15, 2007 – /MarketWire/ - OmniComm Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: OMCM), one of the fastest growing companies in the EDC market place, today announced that it has completed Phase II of their integration project with the industry’s leading Clinical Data Management System for paper-based data collection. OmniComm released Phase I of their integration several months ago, which allows customers using TrialMaster to generate a data export in Oracle Clinical standard format that can be imported into Oracle Clinical. The integration makes it possible for companies using Oracle Clinical to store all of their EDC trial data in the same database as their paper-based data.
According to Chris Huang, Director of Product Strategy for OmniComm, and a former Oracle employee, “Many companies have a significant investment in Oracle Clinical. This is where they maintain their standards and global library information for their clinical research. By allowing our customers to export their EDC data into Oracle Clinical, they can leverage their existing investment in Oracle Clinical without sacrificing the advantages they gain from using Electronic Data Capture. All their data can be stored in a single repository.”
Phase II of the integration, which was recently completed, takes this a step further. “Phase II allows TrialMaster and Oracle Clinical customers to leverage the global library within Oracle Clinical to actually design and build their clinical trials in TrialMaster,” said Randy Smith, Chief Technology Officer of OmniComm. “Our customers can now pull all or parts of the Oracle Clinical Global Library right into the TrialMaster Global Library to expedite their trial set-up for Web-based data capture. This will significantly reduce the time and cost for study set-up.”
TrialMaster v4.0 already utilizes a programmerless drag-and-drop study design tool to facilitate rapid study design. This technology, coupled with the Oracle Clinical integration, further accentuates OmniComm’s commitment to streamlining the clinical data management process. “Our ultimate goal is to provide solutions for our customers that help them be more efficient,” said Chris Huang. “TrialMaster’s flexible Microsoft.Net® architecture was designed exactly for this purpose.” This integration coincides with past announcements highlighting integration with other such industry leading applications including the NCICB’s Cancer Data Standards Repository (caDSR), PHT’s eDiary solution, FastTrack System’s eProtocol design tool, Oracle’s Thesaurus Management System for coding, Criterium’s IVRS solution and a variety of central and local lab systems.
