Pharmatech, Inc. Selects OmniComm Systems, Inc. As Its Preferred Electronic
Data Capture (EDC) Vendor And Enters Into A Strategic Partnership To Co-Develop
Next Generation Solutions For Improving Patient Accrual
CRO and EDC companies team up to co-develop a Patient Repository Solution for improving
patient accrual for their physicians conducting clinical trial research
FT. LAUDERDALE, FL - July 2, 2007 - /MarketWire/ - OmniComm Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin
Board: OMCM), one of the fastest growing companies in the EDC marketplace, today
announced that it will partner with Pharmatech, Inc., a Research Management Organization
(RMO), to build a patient registry database that will improve patient accrual in
clinical trials. The database will leverage the data mining functionality inherent
in OmniComm's First in Functionality™ TrialMasterTM EDC solution
to facilitate the screening and identification of patient candidates for cutting-edge
oncology research. OmniComm will be the exclusive choice for Pharmatech and their
network physicians who utilize EDC for clinical trials. Pharmatech will begin using
TrialMaster in a multi-center, Phase II clinical trial for advanced Non-Small Cell
Lung Cancer (NSCLC).
"OmniComm is pleased that Pharmatech chose our EDC solution, TrialMaster, for their
clients that want to benefit from the use of EDC. And more importantly, we share
a united vision with Pharmatech to bring new, integrated solutions for data mining
and patient accrual to the clinical development marketplace. This new Patient Repository
solution will create a pre-populated database of patient information that is linked
to our EDC solution and can be used by researchers to find patients quickly and
easily for their trials," commented Cornelis F. Wit, CEO of OmniComm Systems. Mr.
Wit added, "This will be the first of its kind solution between a CRO and an EDC
company that focuses on the problem of patient accrual. Pharmatech's unique status
as a CRO/SMO and tight affiliation with their network of physicians with access
to patient information, makes them the perfect partner to tackle this initiative."
Matthew Wiener, CEO of Pharmatech, states that, "The collaboration with OmniComm
allows Pharmatech to blend our expertise in the community-based oncology setting
with OmniComm's strength in the hospital and academic settings to provide real power
to oncology clinical trials. The OmniComm e-clinical trial platform will boost the
development of our progressive clinical trials business model by further building
upon our innovative patient enrollment and data management programs."
